Playtech’s classic slots have propped up online casino sites for years. And even though the developer started churning out games for players in the late 1990s, and have improved the look and feel of their titles, some gamblers like to go back to the original slots for their fix.
One of Playtech’s earlier efforts was the 8-payline Vacation Station, about as basic a slot as you could find. Played over a 3×3 reel set-up, the slot was simple with a capital ‘S’. Now, given an upgrade in music, sound FX, and graphics, Vacation Station Deluxe casino slots same classic gameplay and gives it a polish.
But does the Vacation Station Deluxe video slot take you to sunnier climes, or is it worse than a wet weekend in the UK? Let’s find out with this review.
Play Nine Spots, And Nine “Reels”
Vacation Station Deluxe is all about holidays. Our key character is a smiling, Hawaiian shirt-adorned tourist as he walks through the airport with suitcases in hand. Overhead, a jumbo jet zooms over (with accompanying FX), and the tourist even moves.
It’s about as close as Playtech get to 3D graphics in their games. However, you can play Vacation Station Deluxe on mobile, so it’s a game you can bet on wherever you are.
Players have the option to bet on just one line, or pick up to all eight paylines at once. There’s a cracking range of coins betting as well. Simply shift the coin level from 0. That means a top max bet of 800. In this version of the game, you can Autoplay up to 99 spins, and there’s even a ‘Skill Stop’ button which does little to really ‘stop’ the reels where you want.
The big difference with Vacation Station Deluxe slot review – like its simpler predecessor – each of the nine spots acts as a separate spinning reel. This makes it a little more unpredictable where winning lines will fall.
Land Jets For Big Payouts
Vacation Station Deluxe is an online slot that pays depending on how many identical symbols you line up. The paytable shows three separate payouts: for one coin, two coins, and three coins respectively. Like video poker, however, if you bet at three coins the jackpots can be much bigger than usual.
For example, three jet symbols in a row pays a high limit 1,000.
On the lower end of the scale, three buses pays 25. The luxury yacht pays 750. OAK.
Hit The Big Suitcase Scatters
There’s little difference between Vacation Station and this online slot in terms of Scatter symbols, either. The suitcase is the Scatter pays, and it will award a coin prize wherever it falls. You’ll need at least four of those sticker-adorned cases to win a 2-line bet prize. However, five Scatters pays 10x the line bet, while 6x Scatters awards 50x your line bet.
Then it gets juicy: 200x line bet for 7 Scatters, 500x line bet for 8 Scatters, and 1000x line bet for 9 Scatters. You can see the benefit of hitting these little symbols.
Again, there are no bonus features, but it has a simplistic charm it’s hard to ignore.
If you’re into the nostalgic slots vibe, and want some more Playtech action, make a beeline for Ugga Bugga. This African-themed slot features some 3-reel action but ramps up the fun with six rows, 10 paylines, and a Hold feature on all reels.
With just nine spots and independent spinning reels, there’s no doubt the free Vacation Station slot is great for classic slots nuts. It certainly has high volatility, however, as you can spin for a while (and spend 8x the line bet on each spin) before hitting anything. Stick with it, however, and you’ll be jetting away yourself for a well-earned break.
